To be eligible for this discount you need to hold an existing home or car insurance policy with Rias. The discount is for one year with the exception of eligible 2 year fixed policies where the discount will be honoured for two years. Only applies to car insurance quotes originating from www.rias.co.uk or the Rias call centre that are purchased via the Rias call centre. Excludes any additional optional cover such as Legal Expenses. Discount only available at time of purchase. The offer won’t apply to any changes made to the policy to which the discount has been applied during the year. Rias reserves the right to withdraw the offer at any time but will honour the offer on any eligible policies bought as a result of quotes obtained before the offer withdrawal.

Our price promise – terms and conditions

Our price promise: if you find a cheaper home insurance quote, we'll refund the difference:

You'll need to send proof of the cheaper quote from an alternative provider obtained within 90 days of taking out your policy with us.

If the cover is comparable, we'll send a cheque within 20 working days, for the difference between the total annual premium of the quote and your policy with us. This doesn't include any additional cover, such as legal expenses and is providing you've not made a claim.

For cover to be comparable, the following must match:

    • Property and personal details
    • Accidental damage, personal belongings and high value specified items
    • Total excess, or be lower on the alternative quote
    • General underwriting acceptance would need to be satisfied

The offer may be withdrawn any time, and won't affect the offer in respect of any policies you bought before the withdrawal date.

2-year car fixed offer – terms and conditions

The terms and conditions below form part of your car insurance policy conditions and set out the rights and obligations that apply to the 2 year fixed price offer (the “offer”). 

The offer fixes the price of your car insurance cover (excluding any optional cover you choose, such as Legal Expenses cover), for two consecutive periods of annual insurance. You can only take advantage of this offer if all named drivers are 50 or over, you have 9 years no claims discount and have not made a claim or received a motoring conviction in the last 3 years. The offer will end if you make a claim against your policy or receive a motoring conviction. If Insurance Premium Tax changes during the period of the offer or you make any changes to the policy, the price may be adjusted to reflect this, either at the time of the change or at next renewal. The new annual price will remain fixed at next renewal. All policies and any changes are subject to underwriting criteria. We reserve the right to withdraw the offer at any time. Motor no claims discount protection – terms and conditions

Motor No Claims Discount Protection

You could benefit from No Claims Discount Protection providing you have held insurance for the last 4 or more years without a claim. This benefit allows you to have up to 2 claims in 3 years without affecting your No Claims Discount. No Claims Discount Protection does not protect the overall price of your insurance policy. The price of your insurance policy may increase following an accident even if you were not at fault. Other factors can also increase the price of your policy.

Please note: If you do not have the maximum number of no claims years with your current provider and you switch your home insurance to Rias before your renewal date, it may affect your no claims discount. Cancellation notice periods and refunds differ between insurers, so ask your current provider for further details. You should not cancel your current cover until your Rias policy has been set up.

To be eligible for the offer, you must purchase a new Rias Home Insurance policy from 1st September 2015 onwards and provide proof of cancellation and the fee from your existing insurer within 90 days of the start date of your policy. Rias will pay the cancellation fees only, and no other fees, charges or money owed, up to the value of £75. A cheque made payable to the first named insured will be issued within 20 working days of receipt of proof of cancellation. The offer may be withdrawn any time, but such withdrawal will not affect the offer in respect of policies purchased before the withdrawal date.

How to claim back: send Rias a confirmation from your insurer showing cancellation and the fee paid to: customerservice@rias.co.uk or Rias Customer Services, Deansleigh House, Deansleigh Road, Bournemouth, Dorset BH7 7DU. Include your new Rias policy number and the title “Claim-back cancellation fee”.

To be eligible for the offer you need to have received a communication from Rias promoting this offer, or be resident at the address of the person to whom the communication from Rias was sent, and purchase a new Rias Home Insurance policy through rias.co.uk or the Rias call centre.  

The offer is not available on polices purchased via price comparison or cashback websites or for price comparison quotes completed via the Rias call centre.

You must send proof of your renewal quote from your current provider within 30 days of the start date of your policy.

Rias will send a cheque for £50 to the first named insured within 20 working days of receiving your renewal quote provided the premium for your new Rias policy (not including any additional cover such as Legal Expenses) is more expensive than your renewal quote and cover is comparable. For cover to be comparable, the following must match:

  • Property and personal details.

The offer is subject to a minimum premium of £80 (excluding instalment charges and fees).
